MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - It was another banner day for the Minnesota Vikings as they held their ribbon-cutting ceremony at the brand new TCO Performance Center.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was on hand along with Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire. The Wilf family was also in attendance to talk about the growing relationship between the City of Eagan and the Vikings.

"We think Eagan has a great name as it is and the Vikings just add equity to that,” said Mayor Maguire. “It's a successful city. It's why we do big projects like this and the outlet mall. Increasingly, we're becoming a destination for the region, for the nation and for the world."

"I believe this community is going to rally around this type of development, this type of center which everyone will participate in," said Goodell.

“The midnight oil is continually burning here in terms of working on things,” said Mark Wilf, Vikings owner. “Working on potentially a hotel conference center, residential development, retail development, so there's going to be a whole host of development over the next several years, but it takes planning, good partnerships which we're in the process of developing so stay tuned, more to come."

Vikings fans can look forward to training camp being held at the TCO Performance Center as they'll get a firsthand look at the Vikings as they prepare for the 2018 NFL season.

Ecolab is getting in on the Vikings’ 14-story hotel and conference center under construction at the team’s Eagan campus.

MV Eagan Ventures, a real estate arm of Minnesota Vikings owners Zygi, Mark and Leonard Wilf, announced Thursday St. Paul-based Ecolab is among a new ownership group for the hotel scheduled to open on the Viking Lakes campus in fall 2020.

Joining Ecolab are Mark, Mitch and Marty Davis of Ma Mi Ma Real Estate Holdings, and Viking Lakes Hotel Physician Partners, which is made up of a private group of Twin Cities Orthopedics physicians, the team said in a statement.

“Each of these partners brings expertise in product development, innovative technology and customer service and is a natural connection in the development of the Viking Lakes Hotel,” Mark Wilf said in the statement.

The hotel is the next component of MV Eagan Ventures’ plan for its 167 acres — south of Interstate 494 and east of Dodd Road — called Vikings Lakes. The development was unveiled in March 2018 with Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, a sparkling 277,000-square-foot practice facility and team headquarters that hosts training camp.

Ecolab Chairman and CEO Douglas M. Baker Jr. said the company will showcase its newest technologies and product advancements at hotel and that its proximity to its research and development campus in Eagan “makes it an ideal location to support our ongoing work to deliver more value to our hotel customers.”

The statement touted the “four-star hotel” as “another asset for the region” and noted its proximity to both of the downtowns in St. Paul and Minneapolis, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and Mall of America.

The hotel will include 320 guest rooms and suites, hospitality lounges, a restaurant, rooftop bar, spa and fitness center. Of the total 356,000 square feet, 25,000 square feet will be set aside for an event center, two ballrooms and multiple meeting rooms.

The partners expect to announce a hotel name and flag this summer.

Future plans to develop the adjacent 33-acre-site include residential, retail, office and medical space to join sponsor Twin Cities Orthopedics, which has about 10 acres of the parcel.
