in-the-game-web-bannerIn Partnership with the Minnesota Vikings and The Hon Company, the National Football Foundation and KFAN, we are proud to present the Minnesota Football Program of the Year. At the end of the NFL regular season, one Minnesota school community will receive the “In the Game Award”. The winning program will be granted a $10,000 check with part of the donation going back to specific programs that encourage all kids to engage in their community despite any financial set-back as part of Innovative’s InSports Foundation. This year’s winner goes to Morris, Minnesota.

Henderson. Henderson was joined by Vikings kicker Kai Forbath and long snapper Kevin McDermott. The football clinics were part of a Minnesota Vikings take over of Morris. The take over happened because the MACA football team was selected as Minnesota’s Football Program of the Year and recipient of the In The Game Award in a program sponsored by the Minnesota Vikings and Innovative Office Solutions.<br /> <br /> Kids from kindergarten through ninth grade practiced <br /> drills in the clinics.<br /> <br /> “I like the passing drill,” Derek Waldbeser said. “They threw us passes and we had to catch them.”<br /> <br /> Kids also ran routes for those drills, he said.<br /> <br /> Kids learned how to play like a Viking but the day also included teaching kids how to eat like a Viking.<br /> <br /> “You have grains, protein, dairy, fruits and vegetable,” Brady Mahoney said. “Those five things are what the Vikings have every morning when they have a game.”<br /> <br /> Mahoney learned that in a morning program led by Viktor the Viking.<br /> <br /> <br /> While kids worked with Henderson, Forbath and McDermott, members of the MACA football team also helped with the drills.<br /> <br /> “I thought it was pretty cool,” player Levin Strand said. “You got to meet people you see on TV. It’s not everyday you get to see someone famous.”<br /> <br /> Indeed. It’s not every day the Minnesota Vikings take over the town."
